Adult Violence Intervention Program
These are educational courses for men or women who have a history of physical, emotional or verbal abuse towards their intimate partner(s), an anger problem or have been referred by the courts. The goal of the program is to provide individuals the opportunity to make personal behavior and belief changes that will allow the individual to avoid violence within their intimate and other relationships in the future. The program has various programs based on need and types of violence. One of the programs is the Texas Department of Criminal Justice approved and partially funded Battering Intervention and Prevention Project (BIPP).
Potential clients can call the office to schedule a time for an initial intake and orientation session. During this session a determination will be made as to the type of group that will be appropriate for the participant. There is a fee to attend this program based on sliding scale and this will also be assessed during the intake. Any other information about the programs can be requested by emailing avip@familycrisiscenter.us.
